Playing in front of a home crowd at the Olympic Stadium, the Atlas Lionesses took a commanding 2-0 lead before half-time with goals from Ghizlane Chebbak, who curled in a brilliant opener, and Sanaa Mssoudy, whose scuffed effort found the net.
But the Super Falcons roared back after the break. Esther Okoronkwo sparked the revival, converting a penalty in the 64th minute after a handball by Nouhaila Benzina.
Okoronkwo then turned provider, breaking into the box and setting up Folamide Ijamilusi to slot home the equaliser in the 71st minute. With just two minutes left on the clock, Okoronkwo again turned creator, squaring for substitute Jennifer Echegini to score the decisive goal and seal Nigeria’s record-extending triumph.
