EXTEND YOUR CRANE’S LIFESPAN WITH MANITOWOC’S BOOM GREASE PLUS!

Smooth boom operation isn’t just a maintenance task – it’s the backbone of every successful lift. Correct boom greasing keeps your crane performing at its peak, boosts safety on site, and protects the value of your investment for years to come.

Manitowoc’s maintenance guidelines emphasise a precise lubrication schedule for each crane model. And the message is clear: using the right grease matters. Choosing the wrong type – such as mineral or fully synthetic grease instead of Manitowoc’s recommended semi-synthetic formula – can shorten lubrication intervals, accelerate wear, and even create avoidable stability issues.

Meet Boom Grease Plus – Maintenance Made Easy!

To make boom lubrication faster, cleaner, and more efficient, Manitowoc has developed a set of specialist tools designed specifically for the job. Boom Grease Plus is the smart, hassle-free way to keep your crane running like new.

Available as a complete kit or standalone components, Boom Grease Plus offers a practical, technician-friendly solution that fits perfectly into your preventive maintenance plan.

Why Choose Boom Grease Plus?

  • Keeps boom movements smooth and reliable
  • Protects your crane’s long-term health and operational safety
  • Helps prevent downtime caused by lubrication issues
  • Delivers quick, efficient maintenance with purpose-built tools

Regular preventive maintenance is one of the simplest ways to extend your crane’s lifespan — and Boom Grease Plus gives you everything you need to do it right, every time.

CELEBRATING A DEFINING MILESTONE – CONGRATULATIONS TO MPS GHANA ON THE GRAND COMMISSIONING OF THE COMPLETED PHASES 1 & 2 OF THE TEMA PORT EXPANSION PROJECT (MPS TERMINAL 3 OF TEMA PORT)!

CELEBRATING A DEFINING MILESTONE – CONGRATULATIONS TO MPS GHANA ON THE GRAND COMMISSIONING OF THE COMPLETED PHASES 1 & 2 OF THE TEMA PORT EXPANSION PROJECT (MPS TERMINAL 3 OF TEMA PORT)!

Paterson Simons extends its warmest congratulations to Meridian Port Services Ltd. (MPS Ghana) on the successful Grand Commissioning of the completed Phases 1 & 2 of the Tema Port Expansion Project (MPS Terminal 3 of Tema Port).

This landmark achievement represents a defining moment in the development of Ghana’s maritime infrastructure and in the broader evolution of West Africa’s trade landscape. The commissioning of these phases marks a major step forward in creating a modern, future-ready terminal designed to accommodate larger vessels, deeper drafts and enhanced operational flows.

The ceremony, hosted at MPS Terminal 3, brought together national leaders, international partners, industry stakeholders and members of the diplomatic community. The programme included goodwill messages from the project’s joint-venture partners and a keynote address delivered by H.E. the President of the Republic of Ghana, reaffirming the nation’s ambition to position itself as the premier logistics and maritime hub of the sub-region.

With the expanded terminal infrastructure now in place, MPS is positioned to strengthen its role as a key gateway for international shipping lines, improve container-handling efficiency, and reinforce Tema Port’s status as a strategic logistics hub for West Africa.

We are proud to celebrate this achievement with MPS Ghana and look forward to witnessing the continued impact of Terminal 3’s growth and operational success.

Congratulations to the entire MPS Ghana team on this outstanding accomplishment!

DID YOU KNOW KONECRANES' ORIGINS TRACE BACK TO 1910 WITH THE FOUNDING OF KONE CORPORATION, AN ELECTRICAL MOTOR REPAIR SHOP?

DID YOU KNOW KONECRANES’ ORIGINS TRACE BACK TO 1910 WITH THE FOUNDING OF KONE CORPORATION, AN ELECTRICAL MOTOR REPAIR SHOP?

Did you know Konecranes’ origins trace back to 1910 with the founding of KONE Corporation, an electrical motor repair shop?

In 1933, Finland’s KONE Corporation began producing large Electric Overhead Traveling Cranes, initially serving customers in the pulp and paper and power industries.

By 1936, the company expanded its manufacturing to include Electric Wire Rope Hoists, with harbour cranes joining the product range in 1947.

During the 1950s, KONE entered the harbour crane market, seeing strong growth in this line as the post-war economy surged.

In 1988, KONE grouped its crane operations into the KONE Cranes Division, and from 1990 onward, intensified its focus on technical leadership.

KCI Konecranes was officially established on April 15, 1994, when KONE Corporation was listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.

In 2006, KCI Konecranes streamlined its global brand identity, dropping “KCI” from its name and launching the slogan *Lifting Businesses™,* underscoring its commitment to productivity-enhancing lifting solutions and services.

Over the years, Konecranes has grown primarily through organic expansion, supported by a strong record of acquisitions. Read further about Konecranes history here: https://www.konecranes.com/about/history

PATERSON SIMONS COMMISSIONS TWO KONECRANES GOTTWALD MOBILE HARBOR CRANES FOR ICTSI, ONNE, NIGERIA

PATERSON SIMONS COMMISSIONS TWO KONECRANES GOTTWALD MOBILE HARBOR CRANES FOR ICTSI, ONNE, NIGERIA

Paterson Simons has successfully commissioned two Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor Cranes (MHCs) For International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) in Onne, Nigeria.

These new Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor cranes for ICTSI Onne are expertly designed to deliver cost-effective and eco-efficient cargo handling, thanks to their electric drive concept. Known for their versatility, mobile harbor cranes are well-suited to handling general cargo, containers, and bulk materials, offering high flexibility combined with relatively low operating costs.
The Onne Multipurpose Terminal handles a diverse range of cargo types, including containerised goods, oil and gas, and other general cargo. As the first terminal of call within the Onne Port Complex, which is strategically located in the Oil and Gas Free Zone, it serves as a key gateway to Africa’s largest oil production region and Nigeria’s primary hinterland markets.
Paterson Simons provides sales, service, inspections, training, and spare parts support for Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor Cranes throughout the West African region, with engineering teams currently based in West Africa to support these operations.

Ashraf Khalil, Head of Engineering at Onne Multipurpose Terminal said the following about the commissioning: ‘I would like to share my feedback with Paterson team performance in commissioning of new cranes which was very professional, cooperative and efficient. All notes that I raised are either fixed on time or recorded in the punch list. They did a very good job.’

Our thanks to all teams involved in this successful commissioning.
